Lemon and Lime Care Instructions

The Citronnier is a cross between a lemon and a lime. Therefore both the green and the ripe, yellow fruit can be enjoyed equally.

Like all citrus, they are greedy plants and should be fed regularly with the enclosed special citrus feed. As the plants are growing actively they will need feeding about once a fortnight.

Your plant already has fruit that is about 1” long. Once the plant gets going it will often have both flowers and fruit and the same time.

If you have a conservatory, the citronnier can live there year round. Alternatively, it can be kept outside in the summer and just brought indoors and kept in a cool, bright room over the winter.

Citronnier can grow into fairly large plants, but the good news is that you can prune them back at almost any time. Cut back any long stems to a healthy pair of leaves.

Water regularly during the growing season, but reduce watering in the winter.
Too much water in winter is the easiest way to kill a citrus plant.

Next spring, it will need to be potted into a larger container. Use a good quality multipurpose compost and allow an increase of 2 to 3 cms all round.
