Campanula basket
This dreamy little plant is an optimistic harbinger of spring and early summer.
Simply smothered in starry blue flowers, it makes quite a show and lasts well indoors.
When planted outside, this campanula thrives in virtually any situation.

This display will last about 2 weeks in normal room conditions, even longer if kept cool.
As the flowers fade, trim them off with a pair of scissors, allowing more buds to come through from underneath.
The planter has no holes in the bottom for drainage, so after watering tip the planter on one side to let any excess water drain out.
After the flowers have finished (or before if you wish), the plants can go straight into the garden.
This campanula makes a great companion to plant beneath shrub roses, it will also be happy planted in beds and borders around herbaceous plants in sun or partial shade.
After flowering trim all the flowers back with shears or scissors, this will keep a neat, compact shape.
The biggest danger is slugs - they love campanulas too!
